Case Study: William Plamondon – Balancing Philanthropy, Global Ambitions, and Lasting Impact

William Plamondon

“Today, I’ve reached a level of English that lets me do business internationally. I can pitch, negotiate, network. Even if it’s not perfect, it’s functional. And that changes everything.”

At just 28, William Plamondon is driving three major projects at once:

  • A confidential initiative known as the MooN Project, rooted in artificial intelligence and the future of work, already gaining traction in Silicon Valley.
  • The national expansion of NexWav, his HR solutions company.
  • The continued growth of Jeunes Philanthropes du Québec, a movement mobilizing young leaders around social and environmental philanthropy.

His path is anything but conventional. A difficult adolescence, time in youth protection, and no university diploma did nothing to weaken his drive. By 20, William had already founded his first company with one clear ambition: to build globally—and to give back.

“I didn’t get here alone. Many people helped me. Now it’s my turn.”

English as a lever for global impact

William admits it outright: English was never his strength.

“I never really learned English in school. But if I wanted to do international business, I had to take it seriously.”

That’s how he connected with Isabelle Méthot, founder of Ellipse, on the recommendation of a friend. He quickly embraced the entrepreneur-focused approach.

“Isabelle has an entrepreneurial mindset. She understood my challenges. Our conversations were always stimulating.”

He began with private coaching, later joined Mastermind groups, and more recently added the Ellipse Sprint program. What he values most: short but consistent practice, tailored guidance, and the mix of support and challenge.

Real-world challenges, real progress

In 2020, William spent a month immersed in English. Every morning, Isabelle gave him a challenge: pitch his company at a networking event, approach three new people, book coffee meetings—all in English.

“My English was rough. I was way out of my comfort zone. But I learned to dive in.”

He repeated the experience in Estonia in 2024, with the same formula and the same transformative results.

A turning point: Plug & Play Summit, California

2025 marked a milestone. William attended the Plug & Play Summit in Palo Alto, one of the world’s largest investment events. He scheduled meetings, pitched his projects, and negotiated—in English.

“That’s when I realized I was functional. I still make mistakes, but I can reach my business goals.”

It validated all the hours invested. It’s no longer just about speaking English—it’s about executing his vision at scale.

Aligning success with impact

Through NexWav—which offers a four-day workweek, global work-from-anywhere opportunities, and reinvests 5% of profits—or through Jeunes Philanthropes, William aims for more than business growth. He aims for a more human world of work and a direct contribution to fighting climate change.

“If we do nothing, our kids will pay the price. Even billions in the bank won’t change that. We need to give back now.”

Why Ellipse?

“It’s not just English classes. It’s a space to grow as a human and as an entrepreneur.”

Ellipse has supported William through critical stages of his career, offering practical tools, authentic challenges, and true partnership. For him, English has become a lever for transformation, not just a skill to check off.

William embodies the Ellipse spirit: vision, action, impact. He proves that with the right tools and the right support, it’s possible to build big—at home and abroad—while staying deeply human.
